Director of Technology
Doug Johns is a communications specialist who has worked with some of the world’s most recognisable and respected brands, including Virgin, Microsoft, McDonald’s, Emirates, Aldi and Dell.
Doug has over two decades’ experience working in London, Europe and Australia across multiple sectors and industries including technology, consumer, corporate, retail and entertainment. He has managed teams of up to 30+ talented and passionate people.
Providing strategic counsel and plans that meet client’s business goals and shift opinion, Doug believes in anintegrated and agnostic communications approach, using the relevant channels to reach the key target audience and decision makers.
Doug managed the launch of the Xbox One into the Australian market, which saw the device beat previous sales records to achieve the ‘best launch sales’ for a console. He has also managed other large scale events, including the opening of Equinix’s new data centre in Sydney, and the launch of the new Microsoft Windows Phone.
Doug also has experience with managing talent for clients, including astronaut Buzz Aldrin, television celebrity Jason Lewis (Sex in the City) and V8 racing legend Mark Skaife.
A background in print and broadcast journalism has given Doug a strong understanding of the media and their requirements, as well as what makes compelling content, which is so important in today’s communications landscape.
